The Story
Death is lightning fast and agonizingly slow all at the same time. Or at least that was my experience.
It creeps in ruthlessly breaking the parts of the one you love into separate pieces snuffing out their light as they transition from this world to the mystery of whatever is next.
Achingly, you watch the progress of the darkness. The inner battle to live, each breath a struggle.
You hold their hand whispering every last word, and then just when you think your soul will shatter into a million pieces, their their last little light dies away and they are gone.
It is the end.
